The curriculum
Five disciplines · one of them is the one you have been avoiding
Read all five. One of them will make you flinch. That one is yours.
I
Solve anything
How to read a problem whole, find the hinge, and walk through while the others are still knocking. Practised from the first day on problems you have never met, in fields you do not know, until the method is more yours than the fear is. Every other discipline stands on this one. So will you.
This is mineII
Move through space
How to be at home in a city you landed in an hour ago. Borders, markets, languages, the unwritten rules of a room, and the network that answers from any time zone because you built it one favour at a time. You will stop calling places far.
This is mineIII
Move through time
How to see the window before it opens and stand in front of it. Patience that does not drift, timing that does not rush. The slowest discipline to learn, the one that pays longest, and the one you have been failing quietly since you were young.
This is mineIV
Break the dimension
How to step out of the frame a problem arrived in. Change the question, the level, the table, until the wall everyone agreed on turns out to have a handle. For the problems that were declared impossible by people who needed them to stay that way.
This is mineV
Always have luck
How to be lucky on purpose. More rooms, more doors, more strangers worth a yes, and the preparation that turns a chance into a result. Kept like a ledger until it is simply how things go for you, and the others start calling you lucky with that look in their eye.
This is mineWhich one made you flinch?
Say which discipline it is, say where you stand, and I will read it.
